Small Farm Internship Program
The 2010 state legislature authorized Labor & Industries to establish a Small Farm Internship Pilot Program to allow individuals to work on small farms as a means to learn about farming practices and farm enterprises. The Pilot program needs more farms in San Juan and Skagit Counties to participate. This is a unique opportunity to hire interns legally and get Workers Compensation coverage, protecting both the intern and your farm and assets. Kate Dean, who is coordinating the project, is available to help you get enrolled, and also to answer questions from small farms state-wide on labor issues.
